Ancient East Asian Maps

By Jerome.C.House (American,1991) - Published on June 23, 2025
Ancient maps of Asia provide insights into how different civilizations understood and represented the continent's geography throughout history. Early maps, like those from the Babylonian, Greek, and Han Dynasty empires, depicted portions of Asia as early as the 6th century BCE. Muslim geographers later produced more accurate maps of Southern, Western, and Central Asia, while European maps began to include more detailed representations of Asia's landmass.
