The "Write" Said Fred Annual 2019 is a homage by the author to the 'Oor Wullie' & 'Broons' annuals he received as Xmas gifts as a child. It doesn't contain cartoons strips akin to the tomes he holds with such fondness, however he possesses a Scottish surname and once saying "Hoots!" when in a Fife supermarket on becoming aware their 3 for 2 Cheesestring offer had lapsed. Consequently, he feels a connection with the Sunday Post characters.
