‘A False Dawn’ contains excerpts of the writer’s blogs published on his website strachan.blog in the early summer of 2021. Among these journals are tales of another lockdown birthday, his mother’s diagnosis of vascular dementia, along with his brother Ian inadvertently acquiring a pet snail during a sojourn to the matriarchal home. This literary pieces containing a amalgam of joy, laughter, despair and the occasion word that rhymes with frolics.
