In 2012, Steve and Jackie visited Madagascar on a group expedition with Birding Africa, to seek out as much as possible of the largely unique flora and fauna of the island. Their superb guides, Callan and Deirdre are the owners of the company and ensured that an excellent trip was had by all. Most of the remaining native animals and plants are confined to widely separated National Parks, so the group used the domestic airline as well as overland travel. Lemurs and chameleons featured highly as did several endemic families of birds. This was one of the most successful trips that Steve and Jackie had been on thus far.
