Over a fifteen year period, and on four occasions, Steve and Jackie visited Bird Island, a tiny outlying coral cay of 250 acres, just three degrees south of the equator, in the Seychelles archipelago. It all started as a quest to see a Crab Plover but developed into much more, as they acquired a strong affinity for this remote outpost, with its thousands of nesting seabirds, nesting sea turtles and giant tortoises. Those four visits, along with a short but significant stay on the island of Mauritius, are described in this booklet
