In September 2018, Steve and Jackie flew to Ulaanbaatar via Moscow. There, they joined three others plus two guides and continued by air, to the town of Khovd. From Khovd, they completed their journey by 4WD vehicles, into the Altai Mountains where they stayed, for six nights, in a ger camp at 6000 feet. They were hoping to see a Snow Leopard, as the previous six groups had done before them. Sadly, the "mountain cats" proved elusive but the stunning scenery, together with the fascinating flora and fauna of the region provided great compensation.
