In 2012, Steve and Jackie visited Madagascar on a group expedition with Birding Africa to seek out as much as possible of the largely unique fauna and flora of the island. Their superb guides, Callan and Deirdre are the owners of the company and ensured that an excellent trip was had by all. Most of the remaining native animals and plants are confined to widely separated National Parks so the group used the domestic airline as well as overland travel. Lemurs and chameleons featured highly as did several families of birds which are endemic to the island. It was one of the most successful and memorable trips that Steve and Jackie had been on thus far.
